The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is seeking skilled instructors to travel throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia presenting hands-on, educational history programs to students of all ages and abilities. Extensive overnight travel is required September-May and applicant must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Requirements: Demonstrated classroom teaching or museum education experience. Knowledge of and ability to learn different teaching methods and to apply these methods in the development and implementation of curriculum-based, educational programs for all levels, especially elementary-aged children. Experience with public speaking and/or leading group programs. Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently and as a contributing team member. Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment. 
Required: Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license. EXTENSIVE DAY AND OVERNIGHT TRAVEL IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience teaching elementary-aged children in a classroom or museum setting. Degree in education, museum studies, or history; or equivalent experience.
